Appearance: first house, depositors....?
Is it possible not to have any signs/planets in the first house?
Im a complete novice to astrology, only really know about sun/moon/rising/mars/venus signs and am trying to depicher the signs and planets in my birth chart relating to my physical appearance.
If I give you my birth chart details will you be able to tell me about my details relating to my appearance and what this means?

sun in aries, moon in sag, ascendant in libra, venus in pisces, mars in gemini.

I'd love to draw your chart and see what it looks like, but my chart drawing program (can't really call it an astrology program; it only draws charts...) is on my other computer and that computer is kind of out of my reach at the moment... so I'll do it later ^_^
It is possible to have an empty 1st house. How this applies to your physical appearance, is simply that just the rising influences your physical appearance (together with your sun and moon depending on the influence of the house they are in. So it's going to be very easy to judge your rising sign from a picture.
If you compare that to my chart, I'm influenced by the - usual - sun, moon and rising, and add to that mercury, uranus, venus and neptune. You can imagine it would be very hard to figure out my signs from my picture (I'm sure my current one is easy enough, but generally every picture I've showed of myself, for some odd reason people tend to think I'm an air sign...)
Anyway... William Lilly was a 16th century (I believe) Horary Astrologer, but he had a very interesting view on the 1st house and physical appearances. He said that someone who has an empty 1st house, will have a dark complexion (you must remember that he was 16th century and english - he probably never saw african, native american or asian people before and was only familar with the european skin colours and based his findings on those) for the skin colour they generally have. The more planets you have in the first, the paler you are. That certainly goes up for me, and also goes up for my dad, who has no planets in the first house and is very tanned all year through.
He also said that certain planets conjuncting the rising, have a direct influence on the physical appearance; mars = scar on the face, mercury = big forehead, etc...
