The difference between the Lenormand Oracle and Tarot is that some cards represent people, some objects and others matters or concerns, although a few of the cards can represent different things depending upon its position within a layout in combination with other cards. Some cards are positive, some negative and, again, some depend upon position.

Unlike the Tarot, the card meanings do not change when the card is reversed so it is as well to keep all the cards upright to make the reading easier.

The oracle does not predict the future. It shows factors that relate to your issue or question and shows potential outcomes. Your future is not carved in stone nor is it laid out in the cards. Your future is determined by your own actions, by your response to events and circumstances, your own free will.

If you consult the oracle in the quiet, meditative manner then your subconscious will receive the oracle’s guidance and relate it to your question or issue intuitively. Trust your intuition. Used intuitively, the oracle can help you gain insight into factors surrounding an issue and potential outcomes. You can use this information to help you decide the best course of action.

You may discover factors and circumstances in the present and past that you or the querent were unaware of. This can help you understand the current situation. Inevitably, there will be negative connotations – life has its ups and downs. If these are in the past then there is nothing you can do about it. If these are in the present then it may be something that can be addressed. And if these are in the future, consider it a warning and consider how a negative outcome can be avoided.

You may also “see” accidents, illness or even, very rarely, death in the cards. Do not let this worry you. Again, consider it as a warning to take better care of yourself and go for a health check up. Never overdo it and never dwell on what might happen as being fixated on avoiding something can cause that very thing to occur – a self-fulfilling prophesy! If you are reading the cards for someone else, do not tell them of the circumstances you see, at most counsel them to take care of themselves and suggest a health check. Never diagnose or advise on medical matters, if you or the person you are reading for has a potential medical condition then the advice of a suitably qualified professional medical practitioner should be sought.

Consult the oracle with an open, receptive mind and you will be amazed by what you learn.

Note: When reading the oracle for someone else who is present, some card readers will allow the querent to shuffle, cut and/or draw the cards themselves, believing that this will attune the cards to querent’s situation. Other card readers have such a strong bond with their cards that they would not dream of allowing anyone else to touch the cards in case the cards pick up another person’s energy. The choice is yours, but I would strongly recommend against allowing the querent to shuffle the cards. Most people cannot shuffle properly and you are likely to have cards dropped all over the floor – not an auspicious start to a reading!
